Happy to be here

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. It's a hot hot day in Arkansas, a good day to sit in my office and write. My latest book is Fly With The Mourning Dove and it's been out since April. There are a lot of nice reviews and Amazon.com has four five-star reviews if you want to take a look.

I'm working on a contemporary fantasy now. My problem is I leap around from genre to genre as the mood hits. After having been published six times with historical romances, I moved to creative non fiction to tell the true story of a distant cousin whose mother and father homesteaded in New Mexico after WW I.  So far everyone whose read or reviewed the book has liked it a lot.

This latest book takes place in Pinedale, Wyoming at the Museum of the Mountain Man and surrounding environs. It's called Wolf Song. No it's not about werewolves, but rather shape shifters and some bad guys who are killing gray wolves because of the Federal Wildlife Services program to preserve the gray wolves. I'm enjoying writing it.

I also have some short stories in several anthologies out there now, with two more coming out this year. These are Ozark stories. More up my alley. I write historical Ozark columns for a weekly newspaper and a monthly publication called Life In The Ozarks.

Take a look at my website at www.veldabrotherton.com for excerpts of short stories and links to some exciting sites.

That's all for now. Hope to post more here and get more active in the future.
